Thank you for visiting!        We hope you can find everything you need here.
Barking Beauties Salon is focused on
providing the highest quality grooms and the best in customer service.

The Salon is located In Ellwood City, about 15 minutes from Zelienople, Beaver Falls and 30 minutes from Cranberry and Beaver.  The old building was a former Barber Shop then a residence before being converted into a little "dog house" by my husband, Wayne.  His love for dogs has overcome his love of the construction business and he now grooms full-time with me.  Together we own 7 dogs and the love we show for our dogs is exactly the same as we show for your dog when it is here with us.

Our building is easy to find, easy to pull into, easy to park  in our horseshoe-shaped driveway and it has a ramp and no steps leading up to the front door.   The gate opens into a fenced yard area & you may potty your dog outside there.  When you come inside, you are greeted by a charming country atmosphere, a bubbling fountain and a VERY dog-friendly cat named "Therrien" whose only desire is to greet you & your dog.  He is very good with all dogs...Please don't let him out the door if he says he wants to go out!

There is a sign on the gate AND the front door that says "ALL DOGS MUST BE ON A LEASH".  There is a good reason why this is our policy.  First of all, there's the highway.  If your dog senses that this is anything like the vet, they often start to put on their brakes and back up.  They can back out of the gate, run up the drive way and possibly get hit by a car.  The second reason is...you don't know what type of dog is going to be inside the lobby area when you come inside.  What if your dog and another dog growl, begin to fight and you want to help your dog immediately???  If you have a leash, you can immediately pull your dog toward you and away from the other dog.  We had a client that didn't have her dog on a leash and another dog came toward her.  When she bent down to pick her dog up, that other dog bit her on her arm....now she's suing me!!!  I'm not the one who did anything wrong.  She didn't have a leash because she said her dog would never hurt a flea.  It didn't but it should not have been able to get into another dog's"space"

WHAT ABOUT THE BARKING?

The dogs in our care may bark because they hear the door opening and they think their owners have come to get them.  But if you were here all day, its pretty quiet.  The barking is very minimal because the dogs are content, unafraid and not stressed.   Some days, there is NO barking.  Other days, you get one dog that barks and he starts the others barking.  But for dogs who are more shy, we have ways around it.  We don't want them to be any more stressed than they have to.

ALL grooming shops have barking dogs.  If you feel your dog ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT tolerate the sight, sound and smell of other dogs, you probably should hire a mobile groomer to come to your house.

However, our shop's calm atmosphere and visual distractions seem to settle all but the most extremely sensative dogs.  The only time you will hear the dogs bark is when you arrive to pick up your pet.

SO RELAX ....your beloved dog is in good hands with us.    Certainly,  if you feel reassured that your dog is in good hands,  then your dog will mirror your emotions.  Then the grooming session will be relaxing for me, for you, and for the dog.
