SOME PHOTOS WORTH NOTING. Every day we turn out cute and adorable grooms. I wish I had time to take a photo of every one of them. But unfortunately I don't but every once in a while, I do a dog that makes me want to run and grab my camera. These are a few photos....nothing extraordinary but just a sampling of the work of an average grooming salon. We see purebreeds, mix breeds, sick dogs, working dogs and lots of cute puppies.
Our newest puppy, Toy Poodle Gino
Our Gino, transformed from a toy poodle trim into a Bichon trim. Let the face grow full and trim the ears short.

20 YEARS ago we bought this little shih tzu/beagle/poodle mix. She is a testament to what good feeding can do. We changed her diet radically at 9 years of age and she has gone on to live a much healthier life. Still Going STRONG!

NEWFOUNDLAND's "After"
I started to work immediately on this behemoth matted mess and forgot to snap a "BEFORE" photo.

POMERANIAN's "After"
No time to take a "Before"

Wooly, Bushy Airdale that was kept outdoors for a year

No CLUE as to why type of growth this was...on the belly
This is a Cav-A-Shon---a mix between a Bichon Frise and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel...this is her "BEFORE"
This is her "AFTER" She is owned by a person who does not allow mats to form in her pet. If she finds one while petting the dog, she whips out her comb and gets it out.
This is a Maltese-poodle mix. Another fine example of a dog who's owners cannot stand to find a mat
A Maltese-Shih Tzu mix...a very common dog nowadays. No 2 ever are the same.
This is the BEFORE...forgot to take an AFTER photo, but it was almost the same, just a shorter version.
Portable Billboard---this dog was used to Advertise a Pet Fair held by the Alpine Trail Vet Clinic (ATVC)
The Vet's Logo incorporates a pine tree and a sun which were carved and colored into the poodle's plush coat.
The other side of the dog has a medical symbol of a snake wound around a staff and a large V
Peyton---Stripped down to his nakedness in the middle of winter due to heavy matting. Owners "thought" his fur was keeping him warm. Fur like that is like wearing a suit of concrete.
The concrete suit was mounted on a board to let others see, smell and feel the discomfort of such misery
EAR PLUGS...these incredible globs were pulled from the dogs ears. They were over 2 inches long extending deep into the ear canals. The dog can hear his name being called once again.
The finished groom. No one was happy here. Not the owner, the dog or me, the groomer. No one wants to HAVE to do this to a pet. But there was no possible way of brushing it out.
SAME DOG, Peyton, after his 2nd regular grooming. Owners now get him groomed approx, every 6 weeks and he's not tangled and his haircut fits his feisty terrier-like personality.
Poodle Pup's 1st groom. These non-shedding breeds need to start being regularly groomed from 8 weeks of age and maintained monthly.
Same Puppy After grooming. With home brushing, it will stay in good conddtion till the next appt.

Handstripped Cairn Terrier. Comes in a dull dark gray & leaves with a handsome brindle pattern and correct wirey coat texture.

Bathing Buddies-Roper and Acee...dogs of the same family get bathed together

Millie-ANOTHER cocker who requires a soaking tub bath to remove all the scabs and crust. They do seem to love it. You can almost see her smiling!
Keeshond BEFORE. Had always been shaved due to the heavy matting. NOT THIS TIME! Look what CAN be done.
Keeshond AFTER
Keeshond had unusually long and twisted nails. Must have hurt to walk.
Sweet Phoebe (goldendoodle) went to the beach and became horribly matted. It takes a while but she was left long and wavy with no hair cut....just a bath and comb-out
